The Opening of the BRICS Summit

By Eyewitness News

The 15th BRICS Summit is set to take place in Sandton, Johannesburg from 22 to 24 August 2023.

Here’s what others had to say:

@kokokfive7450
Go BRICS! Trade, peace and prosperity for all. No more wars.

@isllamoura
As a Brazilian, I salute my brothers who are also members of the BRICS. Long and prosperous life to the members of the BRICS.

@munirumbawini9906
Respect To S.A For Spearheading The Positive Change On Behalf Of Africa.

@vonniofdoom5590
Africa in nature is isolated unless messed around with, it’s cool to see South Africa wanting to improve their economy.

@wakeup79
This is what the world desperately needs: talks, negotiations, proper diplomacy, trades and cooperation, international relations based on mutual respect, not on a bullying and blackmail!
BRICS is the best solution for prosperous and peaceful future! The eyes of the whole world are on you, expecting from you to bring us into a new, brighter era of human history.

@solomonngubeni3667
I wish the west see that Africa got strong leaders. Sometimes I cry when I listen to my president. Not crying because of I like crying but crying to God that thank you for giving us such leaders. Love the whole Africa and love everyone who support Africa and want to see it developed.

@michaelteow8715
GREAT SPEECH AND INSIDE FROM A STATESMAN WITH SUBSTANCE AND DEPTH UNLIKE WESTERN LEADERS SPECIFICALLY USA…..ALWAYS FERMENTING HATRED OR TALKING BAD ABOUT ANY COMPETITORS OR THOSE STANDING UP FOR THEIR RIGHTS TO BE INDEPENDENT AND ACT FOR THEIR OWN INTERESTS AND PEOPLE.

@user-qn5ht8ig8i
I can not avoid a feeling of relive and deep hope as the BRICS group gather to further work on alternative ways of going forward. Business is important but it becomes dirty business when a few countries get archi-rich and the overwhelming majority stagnate for generations with barely enough to live. I congratulate the countries that have had the courage and wisdom to, once and for all, go against the current and stand firm to change the horribly unfair conditions that have shaped our modern history. Best wishes and success.

@AbiManyu-mv3ly
It is undeniable that the world power economy has shifted from west to east, Southeast Asia is referred to as Europe of the future and by joining a country from Southeast Asia, Indonesia will complement the strength of the BRICS economically and demographically.

@Revel136
A new day is coming. We have to fight, but we will win. As I am confident we are in an Era of responsible fair trade. Getting the colonialists to be open and transparent, will be challenging. But, it will be done. Additionally in the event of future trading, reparations should be paid. I think 25% of all trades is fair. Shouldn’t take more than a century, also the stolen art and artifacts precious Stones etc RETURNED!!!

@juhantoon6524
My hope for the outcome of this BRICS conference is : 1) Admission of new members to increase the voices of the BRICS in international forum 2) A concrete settlement agreement for intra trade between BRICS members as well as countries willing to participate. A reserve currency is too early at this stage to talk about. 3) Put geopolitics aside to concentrate on trade, infrastructure and economic development issues.

@munirumbawini9906
One thing I love about South African political leaders is that;whenever they are speaking politics,they don’t say;South Africa,they keep on saying “Africa,Africa,Africa…..”
God bless you.
It makes me feel like becoming politically active very sooner.
It irritates me when we Africans tend to face other powers individually rather than collectively.

@syeedlutfullah1726
Excellent presentation, BRICS should be expanded to make it more stronger bypassing inter countries political stands

@henrypeterson7768
This is a sea change of global geopolitics. It’s unthinkable to see Africa in a position to decide its own destiny, to choose its friends and business partners. We’re living the future in real time. A multipolar world free of interference. If what I’m seeing is real, then, we owe you, BRICS. Africa owes you. In fact, humanity owes you.

@bonhaitien
Boy I wished Mr. President Vladimir Putin was there. So sorry to see He is not there. But He understands the South Africa dilemma,as a great friend of Africa, He spares them the headaches from the West.

@EricDiller-on1hk
The Brics Business Forum its a watershed moment especially for small and medium enterprises quite a positive and comprehensive feedback lets hope the decisons taken to face up to the challenges will have yield posistive results!

@cedricwai7499
BRICS nations must stand behind Russia no matter what, together we stay strong!

@justinformn7326
We need Africa to grow at about 2 to 4 percent the next Decade I’m expecting this to happen! All of Africa!

@amundammarline162
All is perfect, with Africa we prayed .May the almighty God bless and protect our Africa continent where milk and Honey flows with Spiritualities to healed Mankind. Thanks be to God for his protections and blessings to flows for our world to be a better place to stay where BRICs strikes our developments to increase with a great honour to God for his mercies and blessings to this Universe Amen.
